Combining a use specific design focused on trekking and hiking with classic, casual snap-front styling, the versatile Fernie is a performance shirt that can comfortably transition to travel and off-mountain wear. Made from Alatorre™, a technical fabric selected for its light weight, airiness and durability, the Fernie offers air and vapour transport, quick drying performance and withstands abrasion under a pack. As a component of the Arc'teryx Traverse collection, the Fernie works as part of a comprehensive system that combines footwear, packs and apparel to deliver Arc'teryx freedom of movement, performance and reliability.
MOVEMENT IN MIND
Freedom of movement is an Arc'teryx design commitment. The Fernie's patterning and fit encourage airflow and unrestricted motion without adding excess material that can get in the way or generate irritation under pack straps. The women's specific design, gusseted underarms, articulated sleeves and the fabric's mechanical stretch further elevate freedom of movement. In addition to thoughtful fabric selection and ergonomic patterning, carefully chosen features elevate performance without encumbering design. A small zippered pocket is placed on the shoulder for accessibility while wearing a pack. Long sleeves offer protection from sun and scratches, and, as weather warms, easily roll up and secure with a button to keep them out of the way while traveling.

Columbia's are a nice jacket. They can be a little expensive so it's great to get them a little cheaper on Amazon.
